ПАМЕТНИК НА ДАРИТЕЛИТЕ

Паметникът е посветен на плеядата дарители от Възраждането до днес, спомогнали за културния и образователен възход на Свищов. Автори на проекта са скулпторът Георги Чапкънов и архитектът Станислав Константинов. Двете ръце са символ на благородния дарителски акт и олицетворение на всичко красиво, съградено в Свищов. Официалното откриване на паметника е на 23 септември 2005 г.

Сред най-значимите дарения, направени в Свищов, са на Димитър Х. Василев, който дарява 240 хил. златни лева за създаването на Търговско училище в Свищов; дарените 200 хил. златни лева от Кирил Д. Аврамов за построяването на театрален салон и читалище в Свищов; Димитър А. Ценов дарява 5 млн. златни лева за създаването на висше икономическо училище в Свищов – второто по големина дарение за просветни нужди в България; след него е това на братята Евлоги и Христо Георгиеви за Софийския университет и много др.

MONUMENT OF DONORS

The monument is dedicated to the host of donors from the National Revival up until the present day, who contributed to the cultural and educational progress of Svishtov. Authors of the project are the sculptor Georgi Chapkanov and the architect Stanislav Konstantinov. The two hands are the symbol of the noble act of donation and an embodiment of everything beautiful built in Svishtov. The official opening of the monument was on 23 September 2005.

Among the most significant donations made in Svishtov, are the ones of Dimitar H. Vasilev, who donated 240 thousand golden levs for the creation of school of commerce in Svishtov; the 200 thousand golden levs donated by Kiril D. Avramov for the construction of theatre hall and community centre in Svishtov; Dimitar A. Tsenov donated 5 million golden levs for the creation of the higher school of economics in Svishtov – the second in size donation meant for the needs of the education in Bulgaria; it is followed by the one made by the brothers Evlogi and H Georgievi for the building of Sofia university and many others.
